Hustle Dance mit Kim

Hustle ist ein Paartanz, der aus den hispanischen und lateinamerikanischen Gemeinschaften der South Bronx hervorgegangen ist. Sein größtes Wachstum erlebte er in den 70er und 80er Jahren in den Gay-Clubs von New York. Dort entwickelte sich der Tanz rasch weiter. Man sagt, wenn man nur eine einzige Woche verpasst hätte, wüsste man nicht, wie man tanzen soll. Hustle wurde schnell zum heißen Ding der Zeit. In den späten 80er Jahren sorgten Lisa Nunziella und Eddie Vega dafür, dass jeder wusste, dass Hustle der beste Tanz der Zeit ist, indem sie bei Tanzwettbewerben wie der Fernsehshow Star Search einen Sieg nach dem anderen errangen. Zu dieser Zeit entwickelte sich der Hustle gleichzeitig auf den Fernsehbildschirmen, in den Ballsälen, aber auch in den Clubs, wo die Kultur bis heute fortbesteht.

Kim ist eine Tänzerin, Künstlerin und Aktivistin aus der Tschechischen Republik. Sie begann 2011 mit dem Hustle und trug zum Wachstum von Hustle Communities auf der ganzen Welt bei - darunter Polen, Finnland, Vietnam, Japan und mehr. Ihr Schwerpunkt liegt auf den Grundlagen und Verbindungen im Tanz, aber auch auf der reichen Geschichte und dem Erbe des Hustle.

Hustle is a partner dance that came up from the hispanic and latinx communities of south bronx. It saw its biggest growth throughout the 70s and 80s in the gay clubs of NY. There the dance evolved rapidly. They say if you missed a single week you wouldn’t know how to dance. Hustle quickly became the hot thing of the time. In the late 80s Lisa Nunziella and Eddie Vega made sure everyone knew hustle is the best dance of the time by continuously claiming one victory after another in dance competitions such as the Star Search tv show. At that time hustle evolved simultaneously on the tv screens, in ballrooms but also still in the club where the culture continues to this day.

Kim is a dancer, artist and activist from czechia. She picked up hustle in 2011 and contributed to the growth of communities all around the globe including Poland, Finland, Vietnam, Japan and more. Her focus is on the foundations and connection in the dance but also to the rich history and legacy of hustle.
